How this site handles your information

Who is responsible

This site belongs to Rory Fairweather-Neylan, a software engineer based in San Martín de los Andes, Argentina. He decides how the information described on this page is used.

The contact form

When you send a message, the form collects your name, your email address, the topic you choose and your message. They are used only to read your message and reply to you.

Each message is saved in Airtable, and a notification with its contents is posted to Rory's Slack workspace so he sees it quickly. Both companies are based in the United States and handle the message on his behalf, using the safeguards they offer for international transfers.

The legal basis is the steps you ask for before any work together or, for a simple hello, Rory's legitimate interest in answering his messages. A message is deleted within twelve months of your last exchange. Where work follows, the records that come with it, such as contracts and invoices, are kept for as long as tax and company law require.

Hosting

The site is hosted by Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel processes technical details such as your IP address and browser type to deliver pages and keep the service secure. Rory does not use these details to identify visitors.

Cookies and storage

The site sets no cookies. If you switch between light and dark mode, your choice is saved in your own browser so the next page matches. It never leaves your device.

Your rights

You can ask to see the information held about you, to correct it or have it deleted, to limit or object to how it is used, or to receive a copy of it. Requests are answered within one month. You can also complain to a data protection authority, such as the one where you live.
